قصة الكتاب :
Manzoni imagines that the liberating army has already crossed the border and therefore represents the state of mind of the Piedmontese and the desire to free not only Lombardy, but also all of oppressed Italy.\r\n\r\nThe ode is dedicated to the German poet Theodor Franz Körner, to remind the Germans that they too, when they were oppressed, had fought for their rights. At that moment God had helped them in this battle, because, being just and father of all the peoples of the world, he wants the freedom of all peoples. The war of the Italians is just and holy because every people must be free.\r\n\r\nMarch 1821 consists of thirteen stanzas of eight decasyllables each. The 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th lines have a kissed rhyme. The 4th and 8th are trunks and remain between them. This always happens, except in the first verse, where the 1st verse rhymes with the 5th.\r\n\r\nThe poem opens with an anaphoric trend, common to the whole work, highlighting the solemnity of the oath of the Piedmontese, the liberators who crossed the Ticino.
